Youth is an exploration of two mediums: photography and drawing. One aims to capture scenes in seconds as if afraid to let them go, while the other aims to savor and reflect on these exact scenes. Drawing naturally takes longer than taking photos, and this piece, therefore, explores time in both life and art. Using photos I took myself of Koreatown youth as guides, I drew three ‘scenes’ with color pencils. I drew on muslin fabric which wrinkles in the sunlight over time, the same way youth does not last forever.
